Why is it that only thugs and corrupt people reach the top of political hierarchy? Is it also prevalent in other Western democratic countries?

In general, honest people are worthless, they are mostly self-centric. They are too much concerned about maintaining their own images. Being honest and looking honest are two different things. In politics looking honest is more important than being honest. A little bit of dishonesty and measured dishonesty are healthy and good. The measurement of dishonesty could vary from application to application. Surprised? Don’t be. I will explain it. Pure honesty is usually worthless like pure iron, it gets rusted quickly and has very little application. Suppose you want hardened steel, you have to add high cobalt contents. Cobalt drill bits are made with a steel alloy containing 5-8% cobalt, so they can be used to cut into steel and other hard metals like cast iron. Cobalt drill bits are ideal for when you need to drill through hard metals. They come in two grades: M35, which is made of 5% cobalt, and M42, which is made of 8% cobalt. You add carbon contents to get carbide steel. The most basic carbide type in steel is an intermetallic compound formed between iron and carbon, commonly called cementite. Carbides are hard and brittle. Cementite has a relatively complex structure but in its simplest form, it is 3 iron atoms for every carbon atom: Fe3C. Carbide, which in this case is actually tungsten carbide and is a compound of tungsten and carbon. Carbide drill bits are often made out of steel with a carbide tip. They’re commonly used in industrial applications due to their superior strength.

Let me give one more example pure honesty is harmful. Suppose your wife comes to you wearing a new attire and asks you, “Honey how am I looking”. Now suppose she looked lousy in that attire, can you afford to be honest and say “You are looking lousy?”. Possibly you would say “You are looking fabulous, killing. However would you please wear the pink dress I gave you on your birthday? That one is very close to my heart and you look absolutely stunning. in it” It is not always necessary, to be honest, and tell the truth nor healthy. We need to be a little diplomatic in all our relations, be it our professional life, politics, or international affairs. Diehard honest people generally fail in life because they fail to mix the right dose of impurity at the right time. The nature of impurity also needs to vary. It could be anything - Titanium, carbon, tungsten, cadmium, or cobalt.

Like that, a politician also has to mix the right kind of and the right dose of impurity or to say form a new alloy to suit every new proposition. And it has to keep on changing in dynamic mode depending on role and need. To be corrupt and to make others corrupt, to bribe as well as to take bribes, sell legislators as well as to buy legislators, to create trouble as well as to solve the trouble, to join a new party as well as go back to the old party, to talk about ethics but do all unethical job, to cross people as well as do double-crossing, do nothing as well as do everything, to fight as well as to make friendship, save people as well as kill people if need be, use power as well as misuse power, donate money as well as rob money. Do you think an honest person will ever be able to do all this? No. Only an absolutely corrupt person can be a successful politician. However, remember that only a successful politician knows the right kind of impurity and the right dose to be effective. Caution - Hyper or hypo both the situation could be dangerous. Underdoing and overdoing things wouldn’t bring the expected result.
