What will happen to Congress if it loses the 2024 elections for the 3rd time?

What will happen to Congress if it loses the 2024 elections for the 3rd time, is not a big concern. The biggest concern is what would be to India and its parliamentary form of democracy. Yes, I said it's not a big concern for Congress because there are Congress leaders who have already switched to the BJP, and some more will follow through. Some others will retire from politics, and some others will survive as individuals. The party may cease to exist or may not be able to give a meaningful fight to the BJP.

But India has a very major concern to face as it would be a monopoly of the BJP. India wouldn’t have an alternative national party to make democracy survive. People who are very excited today and going great guns to have a Congress Mukt Bharat possibly would be the most repentant. Don’t burn the bridges that help you to cross the river. Don’t burn the ladder that helped you climb up.

Possibly I have a question in my draft box - Why didn’t the British government not kill Nehru & Gandhiji and destroy the struggle for freedom? They could have easily eliminated Gandhi, Nehru, and other top leaders. Possibly the struggle for freedom would have subsided with the death of the top leaders. Then why the British government didn’t do it despite Congress creating so much trouble for them? The British despite being foreign rulers didn’t want Congress Mukt Bharat. It was not even a democracy then. Ideally, there was no need for the existence of Congress under the British government. Then why did they not go for the kill of Congress? I am evading answering this question. There are so many intellectuals, intelligent people, and so-called political experts on Quora, that I believe the viewers would benefit from having their answers to this question.

Possibly I will put my viewpoint in the EDIT section. Quite often we fail to see the bigger picture. It's important to see the bigger picture and futuristic dream. Let me give two examples. 1. The first one is the Howrah Bridge of Kolkata. Construction was started in 1936 and was finally completed in 1942. It was commissioned on the 3rd of February, 1943. When the project was taken up, it was more or less understood that the days of the British Empire were numbered. But still, they didn’t compromise on the project. The bridge is wide enough even to cater to today's traffic load whereas in 1936 there was hardly any traffic to build such a wide bridge.

My second example is Chandigarh city, the only planned city in India to date. Last few days I have been in Chandigarh on an official visit. I have fallen in love with the city - so much greenery everywhere, the city is so clean, and the parking lot in every sector marketplace is so huge. Imagine the city was designed way back in 1949 when there was hardly any traffic then. The construction began in the early 1950s, and most of the city was completed in the early 1960s. However, the government and planners had a vision much ahead of time. I believe Congress Mukt Bharat is not such a visionary plan. It's not about a few leaders, their deficiency in governance, or maybe a few alleged corruption cases. It's about an organization and a platform. And every organization is part of an ecosystem as they occupy certain space in the ecosystem. You can not destroy them without substantially damaging the ecosystem. Enemy nation and strong defense forces are complementary to each other.
