Why has Amit Shah never tried to become the Chief Minister of any state?

The need is simply not there. Otherwise, Amit Shah could have been the CM of so many states. Very recently BJP replaced the CMs of three states MP, CG, and Rajasthan. He could have been made CM of any of these three stats post-election even without fighting the assembly election. He would have regularised it within the next six months. He could have become the Gujarat CM any day he wished. He could have become the UP CM in 2017 after the BJP won the assembly election with a massive majority. A large part of the credit goes to Amit Shah for this victory. BJP fought the 2017 UP election without any CM face. So Amit Shah could easily become the CM there.

Now the need is over. Amit Shah doesn’t have to come through the way of state CM to become PM. Vajpayee Ji never tried to become the CM of any state. Virat Kohli doesn’t have to pay for the Ronji Trophy matches to get selected for the national team. And who will refuse him a position in the state Ranji team? Nirmala Sitharaman straightway became the defense minister without any experience or without ever fighting any election and practically without any political background. He has adequate knowledge and experience in politics, party organization as well as administration. I do not understand what is so big deal about being a CM.

Yes, days are not over. Amit Shah may still become a CM if BJP loses the national election. If such an eventuality comes he may want to go back to state politics. Nitish Kumar, Lalu Prashad, Mamata Banerjee, and so many others have gone back to state politics from national politics. Yogi has gone back to state politics after being MP for so long since 1998. So that window is still open for Amit Shah.
