What else it could be? This gentleman can do anything to win an election. I believe the nation needs to be cautious and vigilant. Somehow I feel there are certain chronologies people need to understand. However, before going into that we need to understand how the chronology came. Chronology means sequence. One of the very near terms of chronology is Chronometer
As per the Merriam-Webster dictionary, Chronometer is a noun. chro·nom·e·ter krə-ˈnäm-ət-ər. : an instrument for measuring time. especially: one designed to keep time with great accuracy and exactness. Chronometers are magnetic field-defying instruments that resist magnetic fields reaching up to 15,000 gauss. What I essentially mean to say is the significance of time. Why am I drawing attention to Chronometer and Chronology? Just read the following section of the assertion made by EAM S Jaishankar.
"In the last five years, the Katchatheevu issue and the fisherman's issue have been repeatedly raised by various parties in Parliament. It has come up in parliament questions, debates and in the consultative committee. The then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has written to me numerous times. And my record shows that to the current Chief Minister, I have replied 21 times on this issue. This is not an issue which has suddenly surfaced. This is a live issue," he added.
I may not be able to answer your question. See I am not very good at answering questions even though I predominantly write answers. But I am very good at asking questions. This is because I was never an aggressive kind of person early in my career. So one of the very basic lacking areas of my competency evaluation area was assertive skills. The numerous workshops I was forced to attend taught me to ask questions and not to accept things at face value at someone’s insistence or with insistence from an assertive or aggressive person. As you know they mostly come from positions of power and authority inclusive of Bosses. In fact, the skill is mostly required to deal with aggressive bosses.
Read the above section in italics. This is an assertive statement from our very own EAM S Jaishankar. We never heard such an assertive statement about China occupying our territory, neither from our EAM nor from our PM. How many times the matter was discussed in the parliament? How many times the EAM or the PM replied in writing? How many times the parliament was informed about what was discussed in so many rounds of critical border talks involving EAM and NSA when supposedly China never occupied our territory?
But strangely our EMA replies to a state CM 21 times on something which is supposed to be a matter of external affairs. Our EAM is an old-timer in the external affairs ministry and he is expected to know a lot about the Katchatheevu issue. Fair enough. Does he remember how many times he raised the matter in his long career in EAM as an IFS officer and foreign secretary? The issue is supposed to be an old one. Then why it was raised only in the last five years? Why the matter was not raised during the previous term of Modi Ji? Why the matter was never raised in the last half a century?
I do not know whether our EAM is telling the truth or not but I do not remember ever hearing about the matter before. S Jaishankar claims that “This is not an issue which has suddenly surfaced. This is a live issue," Absolutely fine, then what was he waiting for all these years? How many public statements he has made on this? Was he waiting for the election date to be announced?
I do not understand why Kejriwal has to be arrested after the declaration of the election date. Why does Mr. S Jaishankar have to inform the nation of the Kachchatheevu issue just before the election when he had five long years with him to appraise the nation? Why did Pulwama attack have to take place just before the election? Why did the Hijab controversy have to break out just before the crucial UP election and miraculously vanish after the UP election? Congress’s bank Accounts have to be frozen just before the election. Why does the IT have to serve a 1700 crores tax notice to Congress just before the election? All these could have taken place 6 months ago.
You see how important are Chronology and the Chronometer. Kejriwal getting arrested in June or July 2023 or Pulwama happening in 2018, or S Jaishankar speaking about the same Kachchatheevu issue in July 2023, or Congress accounts frozen in August 2023, Ram Mandir opening in 2023 or 2025, etc all these would have lost their significance. Exactly for the same reason the Farm Law was withdrawn just before the UP election, CAA imposed it just before the general election.
I don't ever want to talk about the Katchatheevu issue. Had there been some substance, the BJP would have spoken about it in 2013–14 or even in 2019. But it had been absolutely silent have been silent over the last ten years.
