Congress has experience of holding the nation together and defending the country from China and Pakistan. Will BJP be able to defend India after causing so much division within India?

Congress has many flaws. However, the biggest of all its flaws is its appeasement politics.

Many of us feel that our parents are/were wrong. The stand and perception get changed when we ourselves become parents. We can understand our parents better only after we become fathers or mothers. Or you can say “Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi” ( rough translation - Mother-in-law was a daughter-in-law at some point of time). I kept on telling my son that I was also a son before becoming a father. I have not jumped the staircase to become a father.

BJP ( at least Modi’s BJP) is like today’s son who feels that his parents and forefathers were all wrong. BJP thinks that only Modi is right, he will just change the picture of India by snapping (or clicking) his fingers. However, it doesn’t happen. He finds faults in every action of Nehru, Indira, Rajiv, and MMS. However, when it comes to delivering on those points, he finds himself miserably helpless.

In 2014 possibly Modi Ji had the conviction that he would surpass all previous PMs and solve all the problems of India - reduce fuel prices, reduce dollar prices, bring back all the black money from the Swiss banks, create 2 core jobs every year, make friendship with US, China, he would make Make in India a reality, he would clean Ganga, he would create 100 smart cities, bullet trains, and whatnot. All those were good intentions, he had big ambitious plans. But these are all far from reality now. Having plans and making them a reality are two different things. I am sure PM Nehru also must had other great plans that he couldn't execute.

Madi Ji now must be realizing his flaws, failures, and limitations. He desperately wants more time and to hold on to power by any means. And to be in power possibly polarisation is the only way left out with the BJP. No more lies could convince people. So BJP is resorting to the only tools available to it - polarisation and division politics. Not that Congress was any clean in division politics.

You can not become a good father unless you are a good son. Unless you are a good employee, you can not be a good boss. Children who call names to their father or grandfather can never be good fathers themselves. Good sons never blame their fathers. Same with Modi. He constantly blames Nehru, Indira, Rajiv, and MMS are not going to make him the best PM.

At one point I also dreamed of doing a lot of things that my father couldn't achieve. However, after coming a way I have realized how difficult it is and what kind of constraints my father must have faced in those days with very few resources available then. Whatever I could do is not even one-tenth of what my father could do if I consider constraints in those days. Today my son also feels the same way that I felt 25 years back. This is the life cycle.
